What Happens: Lucas's DNA is altered, changing his personality in dangerous ways.
What's Involved: Back in "Culture," we learned about the dual effects of nature and nurture on personality. Josie's clone is physically identical to her, yet shares no life experiences and therefore acts differently. This is an example of the "nurture" part. In the same way, Lucas, still being himself (as opposed to a clone) and therefore conditioned as he always had been, is now affected by a biological means (his DNA) instead. This is "nature."
As stated before, as well as in the episode, DNA is the instruction manual for your body. Re-arranging the sequences of dfgjhkjk changes the messages that tell everything what to do and how to act.
Twin studies have demonstrated this, since identical twins share the same DNA. There have been cases in which twins were separated at birth and adopted by different families in different places. Neither sibling was aware of the other. When they met, the two often found many similarities in personal taste, job choices, and even spouses' names. Odd, huh?
